After completing a BSc Hons Degree, Deirdre spent 10 years in hotel management, mainly in London, before emigrating to Canada where she lived for 8 years. She joined EBS in 2003 as a Welfare Officer, becoming Administrator in 2005 and Chief Executive in 2009
Graham is Office Manager and has responsibility for the Society databases.
He also looks after the EBS talking books library.
He had nearly 30 years managing accounts departments in private
before joining the Society about 10 years ago.
Low Vision Support Worker
Janice joined the Eastbourne Blind Society in September 2015. She is employed by EBS under contract to East Sussex County Council supporting people who are registered Sight Impaired or Severely Sight Impaired or who have serious concerns about failing sight.
Janice was previously employed by the Department for Work & Pensions for 16 years and became a Visiting Officer helping & advising vulnerable people about benefits.
David joined the Society
July 2008 as Resource Officer to
open and develop
the new Resource Centre.
He had previously spent almost 40 years in dispensing optics.
In addition to supporting VIPs in the Resource Centre David runs computer
training courses as part of the EBS contract with East Sussex County
Senior Welfare Officer
Lucy joined EBS in 2001 having moved from London,
she was a Cordon Bleu cook for directors’ lunches
in the City.
She joined as a Welfare Officer in a small team
Over the years
she has been on a number of courses and workshops,
learning how to best help our visually impaired members.
She is now the Senior Welfare Officer and
is also responsible for delivering our Modular
Welfare and Benefits Officer
Jo joined Eastbourne Blind Society in March 2014 as
a Welfare Officer. She had previously
worked for the Department for Work and Pensions for over 35 years and has
extensive knowledge of the social security system for both contributory and
means tested benefits.

members in the Willingdon, Hampden Park district of Eastbourne.
Sandra joined EBS in September 2012, as a Welfare Officer having previously worked in the Community, serving Children & Families, for 25
years. She has a Teaching Degree from Greenwich University, a Counselling Certificate
and an Advanced Certificate in Advice and Guidance, from Canterbury
Angelica joined the team in 2015 having been caretaker at Stafford School for many years.
